Here is another object I have been learning to uv map with comments and crits would be appreciated :)

What do you think of this piece?

Great work!  Good to see you starting with something simple to learn the process.

Maybe you should consider going for higher reolution models and maps.

(The images he posted are distorted because of certain auto-fit features on CGN.  This will be fixed in CGN 2010.)

Very nice texturing. I see that the texture maps youve made are a little bit stretched, when you're making a UV-map, you can usually put a temporary checker-texture in place, try to stretch the uv map in  such a way that the checkers are perfectly square. This will make your uv-map on scale, and you won't have to stretch the texture to make it look good on the model.

Good stuff though, seems like youre getting the hang of it!

Ive done that technique you suggested with the checker texture , I have made an entire room comparatively low poly in preperation for cgn World . Here is a textured , wire and Clay rendered version of the room I made comments and crits are welcome :)

Looks like a good start, but it's hard to tell, as the lighting is very dark.  Perhaps turn it up a bit?

Yeah Ill make that image brighter sorry about that here is an image of each of the assets involved in the scene .
