The Good, the Bad, and the Bloated

Here's a video I did a while ago.  I was looking through some of my old animated videos and came across this one, which I've never really posted anywhere or shown to anyone.  I think this is probably one of my best and most complete movies to date.  It has my own sound effects, diolog, textures, models, and even music (although in this version I replaced my own music with some better and more dramatic music from "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly").  Overall the pacing may be a bit slow and the audio doesn't quite line up but I think it's bearable.

I tried to incorporate Western theme/style, back when I was into that sort of thing.  If you've seen "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly", then you'll know I 'borrowed' some ideas straight from that movie.  The rest is basically Star Wars-inspired.

At any rate, I hope some find it at least vaguely interesting.

Modeling/Animation/Rendering all done in Anim8or, as always.

What do you think of this piece?

Apart from the models going through other models, such as the spaceship on the ground, the Hutt's gun and animation imperfections, I think it was fine. It might've been better if there was some slow-mo parts before the gunfight. And animation could be better. But since that video was from the past, I'm sure you can do better animations than that.

About the walking animations, one thing you can do is to use at least one target as a guide for your character to move. You can place it at the heel of the character, go forward some frames and move your character forward to match the target. I might do a tutorial for that sometime if you don't understand. It helps suggest that your character is actually moving on the ground.

The repair droid was funny. (was the brown box looking droid a repair droid? i'm not quite sure. not really a fan of star wars)

I've actually heard of using "targets" for in Anim8or before, but have never figured out what that was about.  If they make walking animations (one of my biggest problems) go more smoothly, then a tutuorial would be great, computeruser28!

The brown boxy droid is a 'Gonk' droid.  I actually don't know if it's supposed to be a repair droid or what.

Thanks for the comments!
