Nice model so far mcheccyb! It looks very clean! mustve been quite some work to get the edges right.
Are you working after a real model? when i google for fender stratocaster they don't really look like that.. (or maybe this is what they look like under the cover; I'm a dummy on the guitar-field haha)
Keep it up! it should make a very good render with a nice model + some Art reflections!
The wireframe isn't too messed up, at least the solid view looks smooth! Just on a few places the edges look a bit bumped.. like on the bottom right. You can fix this by adding a loop inside the outer shape.
Right now there are a few points that have 5 edges spawning from it.. If you add another loop with the exact amount of points that the outer shape has, all the points in the edge will have 4 edges spawning. If the points within the new loop have 5 points spawning, it doesnt matter, since they are all on the same surface so it won't show up.
I hope it makes sense! if not ill try to make a quick example ;)
Great job though, expecting a very nice image at the end here.
There ^^ i tried to recreate that area quickly.. on the right is the current situation. On the left there is an extra loop (green dots) with the same amount of points as the outline (yellow dots). As you can see the outline on the right isnt a smooth line but exists of some 'bows' .. on the left with the extra loop the outline is smooth.
I think thatll get rid of the bumps on your model ;)

yeah, i have a cheap strat copy which i took apart recently to do some custom paintwork, so i'm using that as a reference.
that is what the body looks like with all the wires and stuff taken out. so just the plain wood body.
here's a picture i found if you want to compare:

SWEET! i got a strat copy as well, plays briliantly, and because of the condition it is in it looks like Stevie Ray Vaughan's one..
i was going to build a strat, you beat me to it!! (maybe i'll just do an SG then)
can i see a wireframe?
EDIT:
the scratchplate *horn* goes towart the end of the strat hor too much it should come to a point further down. (i hope you know what im talking about)

also added a wireframe, though it's a bit messy in places. I'm not bothered to be honest.

I see what you mean about the bumpiness caused the 5-pole.
a diagram would help if it isn't too much effort, I sort of understand what you are saying i should do but my mind cant picture the remedy.

quick clay render done in kerkythea.
I've pretty much finished on the modeling now, and i'm going to work on making a nice render now :)
sorry for the long delay btw, i've been doing other things.
